I've just picked up a hardback copy of Look to Windward by Iain M Banks at a library sale thinking the copy I had at home was a paperback. Turns out it was a hardback as well.

So does anyone want the spare copy?

My knee hurts :(

Today I underwent an Arthroscopy and Medial Menisectomy courtesy of the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy. But at least i'm now signed off for the next 2 weeks.

In plain English i had keyhole surgery and the docs had a look in my knee then removed the cartilidge.

Car problems [Dec. 7th, 2008|07:46 pm]
Interesting little problem with my little fiesta today :/

Noticed I had a flat last night, no big deal I just thought it'd be easier to wait for daylight and chuck the spare on today.
Come this morning out I go, open the glove compartment to get the lock key thing for the alloys and oops. Not a thing in sight. Cue an extensive but unsuccessful search of the car. Called out the Green Flag guy who couldn't help so its a day off tomorrow to get the car towed into Kirkcaldy and the nuts most likely removed with a chisel and a large hammer with the probability of some serious cosmetic damage to my wheels.

Not the best but the newly enlarged family are doing great.

I'm back
I've not been on LJ for ages , mostly because its now blocked at work. Bad IT department.

I've recently bought the following,
Inrainbows by Radiohead
Dust by Screaming Trees
Nemi book
Preacher - Til the end of the world
Hellblazer graphic novel, can't remember which one.
A laptop for Fee, an early xmas/b'day present
most important - ticket for Aberdeen v Lokomotiv Moscow, can't wait for thursday night:)

On the work front my team had a bit of a mistake and lost the company somewhere in the region of 3/4 of a million pounds, nice. Not the greatest atmosphere at the moment.

Finally for now since I now have theis pc for myself ( and Caitlin ) I've got my own msn - philtruscott@hotmail.co.uk so if anyone wants to chat add me.

Still here [Dec. 15th, 2006|10:00 am]
Only been a couple of months since updating so not too long.
Not that very much has been happenning.

Currently off work ill which has been pretty crap. My Dad has been signed off for the last week as well so have had him down visiting which is always good. He lost a toenail when my uncle kindly openned a door over his foot. Dave (the uncle in question) also popped in this week on the way to get my cousin from Heriot Watt.

Family life is continuing as well as it can, Fee living things up in Edinburgh and hardly seeing me or Caitlin. If anyone doesn't know she is working at the Brunton Theatre behind the scenes at the panto. Its really good so I recommend everyone go and see it as soon as you can. Fee may even be onstage on the last show so go to that one.

Christmas soon, we went on a big shopping trip last night to get as many presents as we could and I think we got most of them so yay to us.
Thats about all for now.

see you all in another couple of months time or something like it.

Diet needed [Oct. 4th, 2006|08:30 pm]
[mood | full]
[music |A groaning set of scales]

As most(all) of you have no doubt noticed I am currently a bit larger than when me and Fee started seeing each other. However this has now rather sharply been brought into focus.

We are away to a wedding this weekend which means I have just dragged out my kilt outfit. I haven't worn this since our wedding 2 years ago and it was bought for my 21st , a whole 7 years ago.
So of course, surprise surprise, the slow expansion of my gut has led to me now being in possesion of a kilt that is too small :( cue lots of panic trying to sort out something for Saturday, hopefully now sorted thanks to the wonderful Mr Dale.

But not a happy bunny.(quite embrrassed as well)
So now I have to get back down to a size capable of fitting into said kilt by June of next year before my cousins wedding in Crete.

Now where's a nearby Gym :(

It appears I am now going to a gig in Bannermans on Thursday night since I am giving a lift home to 2 members of the closing band .
So basically this is a post to find out if anyone is either going already or is interested in going along.

£3 for 6 bands.

holiday :) [May. 1st, 2006|12:10 pm]

[music |Duh!]

Bank holidays rock!

As normal on my days off a nice long lie until 6:45am then up to go and meet Fee from work.
Then off on a quick trip to Kirkcaldy tht has resulted in me now owning 10,000 days anda pair of contact lenses.

Trying to listen to the new album but Caitlin is moaning its too loud and how she doesn't like rock'n'roll music as its too angry. Probably just have to put it onto my mp3 player for a chance to listen to it in peace.

Contacts seem fine so far, monthly silicom based lenses which is something new for me. Just a test pair at the moment to see how I get. The 2 issues being they don't stock one powerful enough for my right eye but since I haven't been able to focus out of that eye since it self destructed then its not a huge problem and secondly to see if I can get away with a standard lense in my left eye or if I need one to correct the slight astigmatism I have in that eye.

It's raining so going to be doing sweet FA allafternoon except playing computer and watching the snooker. Sounds great.
